FRIENDS Caravans in Thailand

 

Payap University and the FRIENDS Caravans: February – March 2022

As part of the FRIENDS Project, Payap University (PYU) held three different Caravan events to further promote the Intercultural Passport virtual mode among the students outside the FRIENDS consortium.

FRIENDS Caravan at the Mae Fah Luang University

The FRIENDS Caravans were held on January 28th (42 attendees), February 9th (88 attendees) and March 1st (82 attendees). Despite the ongoing Covid-related restrictions, Payap managed to organize the events to be in a hybrid mode with face-to-face partcipants as well as online atendees who were able to join via live streaming.

The three events caused great interest among the pupils in three HEIs outside the FRIENDS consortium, namely Mae Fah Luang University, Rhajabt CR and Phayao University.

During the Caravan events, PYU introduced the concept of Intercultural Passport, explained how the digital storytelling works and what is the IACD MOOC

PSU and the FRIENDS Caravans

On November 23, 2021, from 13.00 to 15.30 hrs, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand hosted the Virtual FRIENDS Caravan through Zoom for students and interested personnel from four universities in Southern Thailand: Phuket Rajabhat University, Princess of Naradhiwas University, Suratthani Rajabhat University, and Thaksin University. The event was successfully completed with 213 people in attendance.

On December 2, 2021, from 13.00 to 15.30 hrs, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand hosted the 2nd Virtual FRIENDS Caravan through Zoom for students and interested personnel from Walailuck University, Southern Thailand. The event was successfully completed with 93 people in attendance.

On December 22, 2021, from 13.30 to 15.30 hrs, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand hosted the 2nd Virtual FRIENDS Caravan through Zoom for students and interested personnel from Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Songkhla Thailand. The event was successfully completed with 66 people in attendance.

On December 27, 2021, from 13.00 to 15.00 hrs, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand hosted the 4th Virtual FRIENDS Caravan through Zoom for students and interested personnel from Songkhla Rajabhat University, Southern Thailand. The event was successfully completed with 78 people in attendance.

Highlight of the programme:
• Introducing the Erasmus+ FRIENDS project
• Go Global with Intercultural Passport activities
• Special Lecture on “Building up your Global Competency towards becoming a Global Citizen”
• Lecture by a special guest speaker on the topic “Global Competence Awareness: Career Opportunities and Self-Development”
