FRIENDS Caravans in Thailand

 

To promote FRIENDS project’s key achievements and benefits to students of HEIs in Thailand that are not FRIENDS consortium members, PSU, PYU, and MSU organized and conducted in total 10 FRIENDS Caravan events. Over 800 students from 13 HEIs in Thailand outside the FRIENDS project were reached out and got acquainted with the the Intercultural Passport virtual module.

FRIENDS Caravans by PYU, February – March 2022

As part of the FRIENDS Project, PYU held 3 different Caravan events to further promote the Intercultural Passport virtual module among Thai students outside the FRIENDS consortium.

The FRIENDS Caravans were held on 28 January 2022 (42 attendees), 9 February 2022 (88 attendees) and 1 March 2022 (82 attendees). Despite the ongoing Covid-19 related restrictions, PYU managed to organize the events in a hybrid mode: with a mix of face-to-face and online attendees who were able to join via live streaming.

The 3 events caused great interest among the pupils in 3 HEIs outside the FRIENDS consortium, namely Mae Fah Luang University, Rhajabt CR and Phayao University.

FRIENDS Caravans by PSU, November – December 2021 

On 23 November 2021, PSU hosted the Virtual FRIENDS Caravan through zoom for students and interested personnel from four universities in Southern Thailand, namely Phuket Rajabhat University, Princess of Naradhiwas University, Suratthani Rajabhat University, and Thaksin University. The event was successfully completed with 213 students in attendance.

On 2 December 2021, PSU held the 2nd virtual FRIENDS Caravan via zoom for students and interested personnel from Walailuck University in Southern Thailand. The event was attended by 93 participants.

On 22 December 2021, PSU hosted the 3rd virtual FRIENDS Caravan for students and interested personnel from Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya in Songkhla Thailand. The event attracted 66 participants.

On 27 December 2021 PSU hosted its 4th, and final, virtual FRIENDS Caravan through zoom for students and interested personnel from Songkhla Rajabhat University, Southern Thailand. The event was attended by 78 participants.

FRIENDS Caravans by MSU, October 2022

On 17 October 2022, MSU organized its first virtual FRIENDS Caravan. Asst. Prof. Dr. Peera Phanlukthao, Assistant to the President for International Affairs and Development of Global Engagement greeted the audience of Kalasin University. Ms Sirem-orn Prathumthip, FRIENDS project member presented the project and its achievements to this day, both in Thailand and across the consortium. 2 more virtual Caravans followed on 8 November 2022 and 10 November 2022 with Nakhon Phanom University and Rajamangala University of Technology Isan Khonkaen Campus respectively.

Students from MSU who participated in the FRIENDS Bootcamp in Bulgaria concluded the so-called Caravans by sharing their experience and emphasizing on the importance of the Intercultural Passport virtual module for the development of their global skills. In total, 139 Thai students attended the 3 FRIENDS Caravans hosted by MSU.
